The 2nd international biennale of experimental design.

We spent a decade sanding the edges off every interface, and design got polite. RUPTURA gathers the people who put the edges back: type that misbehaves, software built like sculpture, print that refuses the grid. Ten days in Lisbon. Bring your doubts.
A biennale is a promise: that once every two years, the discipline looks at itself without flinching. The first RUPTURA drew 18,000 visitors into a former cod warehouse. The second one opens four venues, doubles the residencies, and hands the keynote stage to a student.
Every talk is translated live between Portuguese and English. Every workshop ships its files as open source. Every installation must survive being touched. These are the house rules, and they are not negotiable.
